It's The Economy Again, Stupid

We are now fully half way through the Republican Convention and I've noticed something encouraging.  The emphasis on the economy has been almost non-existent.  Night #1 was an homage to McCain play-acting as President in the gulf coast region and tonight's emphasis has been on McCain's biography.  Tomorrow is slated to be our introduction to Sarah Palin so I have to wonder aloud, "If I were an independent swing voter concerned about the economy what have I heard from the Republicans to reassure me?"  So far very little.  McCain is either going to speak at length in his address about the economy or the Republicans are going to walk out of their convention without a strong case on issue #1.

Tomorrow's theme is "Prosperity," so I'm assuming, ostensibly at least, the economy will be on the agenda. But you're right, it is shaping up to be the Sarah Palin Show.
