Lonely heart
Am I the only UK citizen completely obsessed with the demented comedy that's unfolding stateside? I can't find anyone to talk to! Never mind. The only thing I'm sorry about is that I won't be in the US on election night.
Obama by a landslide. It's gonna happen.

Tell Ruth Hamilton in Great Crosby "hello" from She-rah, she'll know. Thanks.

I'm with ya...only I'm in Canada. I can't stop surfing these blogs, although, my interest is more about Obama. I could care less about what Sarah Palin can do with a moose carcass.
Hopefully your prediction comes through.

Thanks for your interest in our freak show, Tim. I certainly hope your prediction is accurate, for everyone's sake!

I'm a dual citizenship - Brit & Australian. I empathise - though I'm no longer as obsessed as I was during the primary. No doubt because I don't share your optimism. The polls are so close - I don't think there's a large enough firewall to protect us from the rigging of the elections that's bound to go on in key swing states.
I don't think the young will come out in full force.
And I think the undecideds will break at the last minute for McCain, just as they did in the primary for Hillary.
I think the right wing monopoly of radio and the way Fox gets a larger audience share than CNN & MSNBC combined is a key determinant too.
Above all, I think Obama's a weak candidate. He only looks good when he's delivering a major speech reading the teleprompter. That's when he inspires good vibes and makes one start to believe again. The rest of the time he's terrible. The way he um um um's and the watcher's waiting for him to make up his mind how to respond. The opposite of leadership. I'll be stunned if he manages to pull out a win. So much so I have a bet with a friend - 100 bucks to Medecins Sans Frontier if he wins.
I'm now finding this election so damned depressing that it's broken the obsession.

You don't know how often I wish I had somebody to talk to about all this. My best political friend died last year and I miss her so much every time something big happens. I guess there's no way for us to hook up, but it sure would be nice.
