McCain and Rove's Imperfect Storm

WOW!  A deposition, an unwed pregnant teen, a bridge to nowhere, a 527 and Ted Stevens, and a DWI are now going to fill the airwaves to clearly demonstrate that McCain didn't vet Palin and is therefore unfit to make decisions for the country.

This is not what McCain and Rove planned to divert attention from Obama's masterpiece. They had hoped Palin would change the subject and energize the GOP. They also hoped that Hurricane Gustuv would help redeem the GOP.

Instead, McCain and Rove must now deal with the aftermath of their imperfect storm: Hurricane Palin.

And the real victim is Palin's oldest daughter who now has to live with a scarlet letter because of her mother's blind ambition.  Palin fell short in protecting her children. Now family values and experience are off the table.

Nothing could have prepared Palin and her family for the national spotlight. The microscope is simply too intense.

Hopefully, McCain and Rove will create an exit strategy for Palin to gracefully go back to Alaska and tend to her family and her state.  Her 15 minutes in the national spotlight may create a lifetime of pain for her family and her reputation.
