Morning Joe: The Problem with McCain? It's the Media!

When Obama was falling behind in the polls, Morning Joe was all over it.  The questions each morning?

 - What is wrong with the Obama campaign?
 - When is the media going to stop focusing on Sarah Palin, which only serves to help McCain?

Now that Obama is surging back (pun intended), Morning Joe is again all over it.  The questions this morning?

 - How biased is the media against John McCain?
 - How hypocritical is this bias as they once loved McCain
?

Fascinating.  Instead of asking what is the McCain campaign doing wrong, as they were doing last week with Obama, they switch to Junior High School gossip cafeteria conversation...who dumped who for whom...and can you believe what they are saying about him.  I thought we were a country in financial crisis, a country at war.  Seems like that would call for a hard-hitting national discourse on the best path forward out of these crises.  Right?

Well maybe not on Morning Joe.

What is truly pathetic about Morning Joe's anti-media rant this morning is that they indirectly portray McCain as victim, leaving what he is saying, what his campaign is doing completely out of the picture:

 - Are they suggesting his campaign lies should not have been called out?

 - Should McCain's gaffes on the economy being strong when it is clearly not be ignored?

 - Should the MSM simply play along when the man who describes himself as fundamentally a de-regulator suddenly says he is fired up and ready to take on the old boy network on Wall Street?

 - Should the media look the other way when the person he chose to be "a heart beat away" shamelessly makes stuff up and moves to shut down an investigation into her own misconduct?

Is the point that if the media is NOT carrying McCain's water the senior senator from Arizona is incapable of doing it himself?  Not exactly a vote of confidence for the man the RNC held up as tried, tested and ready to be our president.

Come on Joe, can't you do any better than that?

Gregory,

My preferred title is "Mourning" Joe.

I do agree with you that when McCain was leading, the polls were MUCH MUCH more important.

Keep at it and you might want to check out the post here http://www.tmcpac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=27

The MSM is in the tank for McCain. Lest you forget, we are talking about corporate America here. Their pseudo neutral reporting is more than a little transparent. It's the Wall Street effect all the way. The only thing that matters is the bottom line. If they reported honestly McCain would have been, figuratively speaking, guillotined by now.

For a while I was starting to give Joe a little respect. Even when Joe was heading back to the tank, I thought Mika was doing a good job at playing the left center pushback.

Apparently there has been a systematic shift of the show and Mika these days seems not much different than Kathy Lee and Kelly to morinin' Joe's Regis. Paycheck and careers take precedence again.

then yesterday I found out that Mika's brother is working for the McCain campaign. The big Z can't be happy with his children.

My preferred title is, "Morning Jo(k)e.

Joe tries to feign neutrality. His bias comes out clearly when his emotions rise, which is often. Let's not forget, Scarborough was a Republican congressman.

It amazes me when Republican media hacks like Scarborough and Bill O'Reilly think they can actually hide their true colors, chameleon like, from being clearly seen.

Joe is a right-wing hack, but we all knew that, didn't we? At least he is balanced out by Keith and Rachel.

I think Rachel's new show is great, btw.

Tweety used to piss me off to no end, but lately he's been coming around, I think. Last night he hammered a Republican congressman from Virginia on his inability to admit that today's financial crisis is the result of the lack of regulation by a Republican administration.

OK, Why don't you have Joe & Mika thoroughly confront each issue:

I love not having cable. It is a thing of beauty not to be wound up and bent out of shape by newsbabedrones and hunkydorynazis. Beauty baby.

Turn off that TV and drop that cable. It feels good, so do it.
