Please Help Track a Palin Story

Yesterday, I read a lot of articles and blog posts about Sarah Palin. Somewhere in there I read that she couldn't be bothered with the more mundane every day tasks of managing the city of Wasilla when she was mayor so she hired a city manager to do it for her. She was the first mayor of Wasilla ever to do this. I thought mentioning this would be a perfect response to her line about a mayor being like a community organizer but with real responsibilities. I can't track down mention of it anywhere. Have you seen this? I think this is worth digging up and also pointing out that when she became mayor the town had zero debt, and when she ended her term it was over 20 million dollars in debt despite nearly 30 million dollars in federal earmarks.

Here you go. You can start with this:

She made such a mess of her start as Mayor that she was almost recalled, and was forced into hiring a city manager, in order to avoid being kicked out of office.

Anchorage Daily News article dated October 23, 2006 in the run up to the 2006 Gubernatorial election that she won.

"She quickly hired a deputy administrator, reworking the city budget to find money for the $50,000-a-year position, which had been empty for several years. Critics said it showed she wasn't up to the job, but Palin defended it as necessary for the fast-growing city."

I can't find what you're looking for but I know I read it somewhere too, so it's out there.
Have you seen this:
New ethic’s complaint is being filed against Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin today before the end of the business day. The complaint outlines misconduct by the Gov. and her office staff alleging records where improperly made pubic.

Oh, Sarah Sarah Sarah . . .believe me, I'm not going to be passing around rumors about you, but the National Enquirer says today that you had an affair with one of your husband's friends. Ordinarily, I wouldn't give the NE an ounce of credence, but, after all, they were the ones who outed Mr. Edwards when no one else would, so I've come to pay just a little attention to their stories.

Sarah, if it's true I want you to know I don't blame you, not one single bit. I know your husband fishes and does something with oil which takes him away a lot. And a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do! (What is the statute of limitation for abstinence?)

There is mention of the city manager in the letter from the Wasilla resident, Anne Kilkinney, that is making the rounds:

Another mention here:

Hope that helps some
