I hear the media repeating this meme, about "why can't Obama close the deal"? And with the typical, and totally predicted, GOP bounce having peaked, now the MSM is lapping up the horserace talk. Understandably, a lot of yall have started the inevitable (and endearing) Democratic handwringing. But my questyion is: Why freak out?? 

Think about it:

"Maverick" (tm) POW John McCain, media darling, backed by all of the powerful corporate and lobbying interests and the current government, during wartime, is definitely NOT beating an academic, liberal one-term Senator who is black and has a foreign-sounding name??? It's a virtual tie, after the 'HateFest' in St. Paul and the GOP bounce???

This, in a country with a history of racism, escpecially racism exploited by the GOP's Rovian style misanthropy. I you brought someone out of a time capsule and told them that a guy named "Barack Obama" is winning in Pennsylvania and tied in Virginia, they would think you are freakin' nuts!

I think this is an extraordinary testament to

1) that most Americans want real change and are hurting
2) the great work and dedication of thousands and thousands of volunteers and activists.

So let me say, congratulations folks. You've done great work thus far. This is a miracle. With all the obstacles, and the decidedly non-level palying field, and the amazingly craven bloviating from MSM talkign heads,  we've not succumbed, but have withstood attack after attack. This is truly a feat to have come this far.

I mean, think how far we've come? And if we go just a little bit farther, we will win. Think about THAT. Think about how great it will be on January 20th. Think about the champagne flowing on Nov. 5th. And most of all, think about America restored to honor and dignity, and a better future for our children. Is it not worth any amount of effort, time, sweat, tears?

Today the candidates are taking a day off from politics. So let's all take a breather. Take a break. And then tomorrow, hit our stride. With less than 60 days left, I think it's time to re-energize and make a final push and BURY THESE BASTARDS!!!!!
