You Can't Make This Stuff Up
Even if his own anemic economic abilities suck, John McCain today boldly stated he would 'fire' Christopher Cox, the head of the SEC. McCain pretty much blamed Cox for following the regulations the McCain help foster in to the SEC, under the guise of reform.
Yes, the same Christopher Cox who was a former Republican congressman, who was appointed three years ago by Republican president George W Bush and who was confirmed by a Republican controlled senate, by unanimous consent. Unanimous consent, of course, would include Republican John McCain.

What John doesn't seem to know is that he cannot fire him. The President, by law, is not allowed to fire the head of an independent regulatory agency.

Come on now Carol. Don't mock him. Remember he did spend 5 1/2 years in a POW camp. ;)
Come to think of it. In one of his videos, he is shown smoking a cigarette while at the Hanoi Hilton. Do you think all POWs got cigarettes or just the special ones?
