Half-Baked Alaska: "We'll Be Good Administers"
Half-Baked Alaska says, "We'll Be Good Administers!" [sick]
Yep, she said administers.
TPM Reader DK has a post ONE MORE FOR THE ROAD on the front page.
They've already promised her all the meds she'll ever need. It'll be like a long holiday.

As Palin herself explains to Fox, it [why she crapped her Couric interview] was because she was "annoyed"But it's OK. She'll surround herself with generous layers of flack who'll patriotically protect us from the effects of those, ummm, annoyances.

Q: Do you have any differences with the Bush-Cheney administration in terms of the power of the executive?Timings:
A: We'll do our jobs in the executive branch as administers.

I think Palin is just partial to the word...
'minister'.
Did you catch the report of a hotel maid who passed through while she was speaking in tongues yesterday? I'll have to try to find that link.

Yes, minister.

By the way, it's (sic),not (sick). Indicating it's been copied from the original(in this case, the word 'Administers'), even if it is a mistake. Regardless, your own (sic) is hysterical.

And I never said it wasn't [sic]. It's just my editorial comment that it's [sick]. I figured few would disagree :-)

I'd like a link to that 'speaking in tounges' interview Synch.
As someone who comes from the Pentacostal tradition I think its important to be not careful-but aware, that just because someone has religious practices that dont fit what is our version of 'average' that we assume the brain turned off when the Spirit turned on.
You can have both intellect and religion, it is unfortunately the exception though, not the rule.

I haven't remembered where it was as I was floating through material yesterday before the debate.
I agree that speaking in tongues in and of itself is not necessarily a 'problem'. What I find a challenge is when we have very different belief systems about spirituality/religion and a person's belief system incudes that their beliefs are 'superior' to any other and that all must be converted/saved/etc. as a duty and obligation...
That sort of thing is just really a brain twister and the sort of thing that does give me a preference that my government representatives have a less exclusive spiritual/religious belief system. I do have the impression that Sarah Palin is very involved in her religion so, while I have no issue with her having a belief system different than mine... I would prefer not to have her in any role as my representative whether VP or President.

I do it on and off, but only to myself. Under a lot of stress, I can imagine it bubbling out.

'Speaking in tongues' is people having verbal hysteria reactions; they are -- oo ee oo ah ah ting tang wallah wallah bing bang -- carried away by emotion, but they know they are faking it too. Anyone here ever go to a pajama party in the 50's? We all saw people hyperventilating, blowing on their thumbs and then "fainting." It is the same 'phenomenon.'
I know someone very well who admitted that to me about speaking in tongues. It's one reason there is a whole lot more of that than there is of snake-handling.

I agree with you completely. My faith is mine. Talk about, share.. whatever.. make judgements on others because of it.No.

The ironic thing is that, as Governor, Palin promoted the slaughter of administers, offering a taxpayer-funded bounty to who brought in a left dorsal tendril.

Dumb shit. Now she's got nobody to minister to all those ads.

It's a combo word from her religious indoctrination:
Fundie ministers in politics are "administers."
I am surprised you did not see that. tsk tsk

Wow, my fundie learning is deficient, I guess.

Good catch! We'll be finding gems in the muck for a long time, I suspect. Honestly, when you hear speech like that, I think your brain literally turns off. To protect the neurons. From assault and battery.
