How's Yours?
Hi there, come on in. Just got here myself, heading into the kitchen to find something to munch on. And a much needed glass of wine - you? Sure! Grab a seat after you put some music on, your choice. Something fairly soft and mellow if you don't mind. What? Very observant of you! You can always tell my mood when the lights are dimmed and the candles are lit.
Long evening, this one. Nothing wrong, really, just kept too busy trying to take care of people on vacation. The poor folks who have valiantly tried and failed to keep their spirits up while the rain poured down upon them. For the last three days. So, yes - I'm going to enjoy this glass of wine. My mood is low and slow tonight. How's yours?

Threadkiller warning, but I'm good tonight, except for one thing. I'm trying to get myself in shape enough to run a 5K on December 7. A long way to go, because I don't think I've run more than a quarter mile since I was in high school. But it's good to have a goal, so I'm working towards it. However, three days ago I almost pulled my hamstring, so I've taken the last couple of days off. But I'm ready to go tonight, and, after the Gators blew out LSU tonight, I was ready to go. Socks ready, water ready, all set.
Ipod dead.
So now I'm waiting for it to charge, but it's getting late. The 3.1 miles takes me 51 minutes, so it will be after 11 when I get done.
So my mood, my dearest, is frustrated. But it could be a lot worse.

Wow! A 5K? I bow to your sheer willingness to try. Which, of course, means you've already triumphed. Take care of that hamstring, though.
Have a great run, enjoy the music, fresh air and freedom.

Okay, partly charged iPod made it through the workout. Life is good. Hamstring twinged, but didn't get worse. Wimpy training regimine -- 40 seconds of running every 5 minutes. But it's the only way I'll build up to make it. Tomorrow starts 60 seconds. Eight weeks -- not as much time as it sounds.
Thanks for the kind words. You rule.

Nothing wimpy about it! You build up to it as it works for you, improving all the while. At the rate you're going for it, eight weeks will be more than enough to make yourself proud. That's all that matters, after all.
I'm cheering for you.

Hey, Girl! Pretty good actually. We are getting the 1st nip of fall in the air...just a little cooler than usual and a nice breeze.
Tomorrow night our granddaughter is coming over for a sleep over (mom needs a little break from her naughtiness...my granddaughter naughty? It's heresy!) We're going out to her favorite place for dinner, then palling around the next morning out shopping...so, much to look forward to!
How 'bout you, sweetie? Any fun coming up?

How wonderful for you, still! I know that any time spent with her is the most precious time in the world for you. A sleepover? Priceless! Have a blast shopping ... that's so much fun with a little girl.
Me? Not so much ... but fun can crop up when you least expect it. Like everything else.

I'm kind of in a bitchy mood tonight. Must be my cold.

Sorry to hear about your cold, but you've actually matched my mood quite well. I'm not necessarily bitchy, but close enough to see it if I squint.

Heh. I awoke in totally bitchy mood this morning. I blamed it on fact that it WAS cold.
I really wish the Early Morning WoodStove Fairy would add me to his/her/its route.
Either that, or our society would simply chill out, and be amenable to the notion of folks opting to have a glass of Zinfandel as prerequisite for getting out of their warm bed. ;-)

Is that up for a vote? If so, count me as a resounding YES! Getting out of bed can be such a bummer for many reasons - but when it's cold it's terrible. And can lead to a cold. Where's the logic in that?

Not much for wine in the morning. But a little something in my coffee would be perfectly acceptable.

Heh. Several guys in my office were sneezing and doing Dayquil shots the week before last, and I got it last weekend. I got up this morning with all sorts of plans about going into work, but just watched the Baltimore Marathon then slept from Noon til 4 PM. But I do feel better.

Why is it that sleeping through the day when you're sick seems to work better than overnight? Maybe it's just me. Very glad you're better, continue to take it easy though.

Hey, M. Done with working and just hanging around after dinner - flight out's tomorrow around noon, s dinner and drinks with the crew and now just tubing out at the hotel.
People think the road's something glammy - you get to see airports, taxis, and hotels, mostly. The real satisfaction comes from doing the good work we did and knowing that the client's happy with it all. Raising the bar every time out and then meeting it next time.
We did well, I'm happy (and a little buzzed - it was good beer!)and sorta tired. I'll drop back in a time or two yet tonight...

Hey, me. Another job well done - a hearty congratulations! Nothing like the satisfaction of knowing you did your best, and were appreciated along the way. Raising a glass with friends when it's finished is a fitting tribute. Good thing the flight's not 'til Noon, huh?

Well, for me (and my bio-clock) it's 2 PM, really. Even better...
And I'm just hangin' now. Travel's OK, getting home is better. Tomorrow will be good for that.

Home is always better. It's where the heart is. Hopefully you can hang there for awhile and enjoy the comfort. Careful of that clock - reality has a way of sounding the alarm.

Well, I'm just hanging and chilling with a little TV. Thanks for the concern, though - I truly appreciate that. Time was, I would not have. I've learned.
Thanks again.

Hey, all. I've missed you. 18-hour days all week in preparation for Parents' Weekend but, finally, after an eight-week blitz, the satisfaction of displaying a show of student work in the gallery and feeling real pride in their accomplishments. Nary a compliment from the administration, of course; rather, just a complaint about the positioning of the labels, but hey -- one of the board members commented that, for the first time in years, the work looked like thought-provoking art and not just "don't worry, be happy" babysitting exercises. I'll take that, and be satisfied that someone noticed.
Tomorrow it begins again. Just stopped by to tell y'all I've been thinking about you, wish each of you well, and looking forward to having a glass of wine with you soon, listening to music.
Take care.
