Obama campaign lies again
While it is true that the John McCain camp has lied frequently during this campaign, the Obama side has outpaced the John Kerry and Al Gore's campaigns in this respect. I cannot remember these many lies in '04 or '00.
The newest falselhood comes from a new Obama ad that slams John McCain for attacks that include accusing Obama of "letting infants die".
But it was actually the group bornalivetruth.org that's making the charges. This group is not associated with the McCain campaign.
Moreover, at the end the ad gives us the usual "McCain-is running-on-a-platform-that..." argument that ignores that McCain DOES ALLOW exceptions for rape and incest when it comes to banning abortion.
Candidates do not necessarily support all points laid out by their parties' platforms.

Campaigns should all stop lying.

And the point is?
Gore and Kerry lost, (see results, e.g. Iraq).
Gore let himself be defined by the GOP as boring, arrogant, etc. Kerry wouldn't stoop to fighting against the Swift-Boaters.
Obama let it go on just the right amount, and then let them have in the mouth. I, for one, am pleased to see a likelihood of the GOP going down in flames.
But since you always complain about liberals, this appeal for bipartisan civility is unconvincing.

Obama himself told fring lefties such as TPM'ers and Kossacks to stay away from stories such as the Palin pregnancy story.
Was his call for civility unconvincing?

Was talking about you. But Obama has not raised the pregnancy.
He did raise McCain's on-video and elsewhere-recorded anger, his very close friendship with Charles Keating, and his very cozy relationship with Rick Davis and his clients.

O please. I mean - please.
Obama does not support letting babies die - thanks for trying to spread that fucking lie.
There's no such thing as an abortion that results in living fetuses.
It's a fucking lie.

And McLame's Vice Presidential running mate ran a program in Alaska that forced rape victims to pay for their own damn rape kits.
McLame is the head of the ticket. He is ultimately responsible for what she stands for and what she says and she is against abortion even in cases of rape and incest.
Nice try - not.

Since Obama has stepped in and attempted, with quite good success, to control the activities of pro-Obama 527s, I don't think it's entirely a lie to attribute things said by pro-McCain 527s to the McCain campaign. ---- It's a bit of a ruse, you know. Everyone knows that GWB could have significantly damped down the Swift Boaters if he had wanted to ...but he didn't want to. By the same token, one has to assume that McCain could exert similar pressure on the 527s supporting him as Obama has been able to do on the ones supporting him.
As to the exception for rape and incest, or rather lack of an exception. You may be right that the "platform" of the Rep party allows for such exceptions, but McCain's running mate does not, and McCain has taken no step to separate his position from hers. It's fair to assume that the two candidates agree with one another -- goodness knows McCain and Palin trumpet it to the world if Obama and Biden ever even appear to disagree on something.
Good try -- but you just don't have much material to work with when trying to balance the many McCain lies with Obama's.

In the vice presidential debates, both candidates were asked whether they would continue with the Presidents plans and whether they would continue on the same course, in the event the President was unable to serve.
Palin answered NO; she wouldn’t, because she was a maverick too.
That comment alone should strike fear into the electorate.
Who is the real Palin?
She avoids any discussion of what she’d do if she were President, her saying she’s one of us, trust her.
She is not one of us that believe that we all have different perspectives, but come together to form a consensus, where compromise brings peaceful results.
She is one of those who are divisive; she has little respect for a different opinion other than those who agree with her. She abuses her authority, allowing personal feelings to make decisions, which affect ALL. As though she alone, was perfect in all her ways.
Her attributes scare me, and are reflective of the same pattern as the last 8 years with Bush and Cheney. That the Laws don’t apply to her, because she disagrees with them, therefore they must be overturned.
