Obama isn't cutting taxes - he's providing welfare
Everyone should read this analysis. I've seen it from a variety of sources.
How do people fell about Obama giving "tax cuts" to people who already don't pay taxes. Isn't that just welfare? Will that strategy increase jobs? incentivize people to advance their education? It may have a short term benefit but is it really the right long term solution?

I pay taxes and I'd get tax cuts under Obama's plan. I'd also be able to get some help, should I ever (god forbid) get sick and lose my job/benefits.
People working at McDonalds also pay taxes, but don't even have the luxury of getting rewarded with benefits or retirement plans. Should those same minimum wage workers not have an opportunity to go to college? Or are they expected to somehow save up the $5000-10000 a year required for even the lowest of state schools while also paying for health care out of pocket and keeping a roof over their head and food on the table?
Or do the people in the "$250K-plus set" need that help more? I think not, and I'm glad Obama agrees.

Get your facts straight. A tax cut wouldn't give anyone a refund greater than what they paid in taxes, that is called a refund and is something that the GOP loves to do.

JohnAH - What facts did I mix up? If you read the articles, you'll see that part of Obama's tax plan is to give "refundable credits" to people, including people who currently don't pay taxes.
Why do you think that his plan "wouldn't give anyone a refund greater than what they paid in taxes"?? His tax credits only take low-income to qualify, not actually having paid taxes.
The "child and dependent care credit" that Obama is proposing does not even require that you have a job!
