THis is my first post so excuse me if it breaks some rules. Here are two points about McCain that seem to have been neglected.

With the campaign as nasty as it is, and with a probable dominant Democratic congress, how can McCain ever expect to govern? He promises all the things he will do, but he will not be able to act the monarch as GWB has and cannot do it alone.

A maverick is a horse that does not run with the herd, but he is never the leader of the herd. Why is being a maverick a qualification to lead a country? He was able to act as a little maverick because he tried to find demos to run with, but he will not be able to do that and he will not be able to be a maverick too his own part and do anything. I think the maverick reputation is a disqualification for a president and not an advantage.
