So, are the smear attacks over?

See, this shouldn't even be a blog entry, but I am intensely curious and want to see what kind of responses I get...
So, for months (years? decades? God, but these political seasons seem to stretch out) McCain responded to questions about his smear ads by saying that if ONLY Obama would participate in a town hall-style meeting, all the smears would stop. I'm not even going to bother posting links showing this, because TPM does such a good job of providing evidence of the above.
So, now that Obama has faced off with McCain in a town hall debate, does that mean that McCain is going to keep his implied word and stop talking all the ridiculous smack about sex-ed for preschoolers and Obama being Jesus or Paris Hilton or a Muslim extremist or someone like that?  How about we keep an eye out, and see if those ads magically disappear?

ain' gonna happen cuz the Rovian smear squad is on the job full time. McCain sold what was left of his crusty soul to the devil.

We're getting a good look at the real McMaverick and it won't be pretty for a few weeks.

btw... some of your debate comments made me laugh so loud I woke the children.

Anyway I was actually impressed that McCain didn't spew the venom too ridiculously tonight. Would've been tough in the town hall format, and I fully expect the dingbat pitbull running mate to pick up where she left off with the slime.

It's too late and they know it... they're dooooooooomed.

I'm always glad to make a person laugh. Which was it, Super bigears mcpivot, or that me and my cat had to pee at the same time? :-)
I don't know if I was so much impressed by McCain's lack of (a lot of) venom. I think that he's been getting hit so much by the media because of the shit-slinging Palin's doing, that he might have been really leery of bringing up the same B.S. that didn't work for Hillary during the primary season.

And yes, they are dooooooooomed. Hee!

It was the simultaneous litter box usage - and balls of titanium I think :)

I would not want to be a Republican running for office right now!
