« Another Anti-Obama hit job | ondioline's Blog | Who is the TOTALLY REAL Barack Obama? »

That One

As I'm sure most of folks know by now, John McCain found a way to sink to a new low last night.  After being unable to look his opponent in the eye during the first Presidential Debate, he was able to achieve that staggering feat of humility...  A victory for decorum, to be sure.  Unfortunately, he couldn't let his disdain for Barack Obama fly below the radar, at one point dismissively, derisively referring to him as "That One".  That what exactly?

Enough.

If John McCain doesn't understand where the line is, it is time for the American electorate to show him where the line is.  When your supporters are shouting "Kill him!" and "Terrorist!" about a fellow U.S. Senator during your rallies, and neither you nor your incompetent running mate feel the need to do anything about it or address it in any meaningful way, what does it say about you?  It says you've violated the public trust.  It says you've lost track of the basic outlines of human decency.  It says you've violated your vows for an issues-based campaign.  It says you've lost your bearings and you no longer know how to run the honorable campaign you promised the American people.  So maybe John McCain doesn't know anything about honor.  Maybe he doesn't have any principles.  Maybe he doesn't know when to say "Enough is Enough."  But we do.  Got ten bucks?  Five?  One?

Speak up.

"That one."  It's unfortunate that Senator McCain had the right response but the wrong question.  Which of the two men we saw last night has the intellect, the composure, the demeanor, the presence, and the judgment to be the next President of the United States?  To restore America's place in the international community and to represent us faithfully and effectively among world leaders?  To serve the people who count rather than the people who are counting our money?

That one, Senator McCain.  That one.
