Was Palin Using Crib Notes?
I'm just wondering how she managed to sneak them in. This could be really big if it turns out to be true.

Was there a rule against notes?

ThinkProgress pointed out that she was in fact reading her answers, or at least outlines of answers. Faiz described her performance as "an open book exam." It must not have been against the rules. The major broadcasts did not have a split screen of the debate, so most people did not see what she was doing between answers.
Hope this helps

After re-reading the article, I don't think there was anything suspicious going on. The page that linked to the article made the whole thing sound far more nefarious. Prolly nothing.

Biden looked down at the podium a couple of times, and during the primary debates Barack and Hillary were constantly writing notes while the other was speaking. It feels like cheating, but I suppose even the smartest among us can't keep it all straight without notes.

I pointed out to my husband, at one point, that she was reading from notes. It was so obvious. Maybe an hour in, or so.
