She may be having some effect, as 1 in 5 voters who support her wont be voting for Obama, according to exit polling. Even more revealing and the point of the subject, nearly 80% of her supporters believe the race for the nomination is neck and neck with her chances to win the nomination equal to Obamas. Seeking any ally she can muster she embraces the people who sought her and her husbands destruction, most notably Richard Mellon Scaife .   Scaife was the principal funder of a news media propaganda campaign aimed at defaming and discrediting President Clinton. Scaife has also bankrolled a nationwide crusade charging that White House aide Vincent Foster did not commit suicide, but was murdered; something which was also the subject of official investigation by the recipient of Scaife's largesse, Kenneth Starr , Whitewater independent counsel. Her ability to forgive and forget is admirable and its only of secondary importance that while embracing Scaife she criticizes and betrays the organization, Moveon.org, that formed initially to defend her husband against the republicans attempt to impeach him.   Discarding or abandoning anyone that no longer furthers her ambition is a character trait she wears proudly, right where the flag lapel pin would be worn. An adornment not lost on the keen eyes of the fox news network who she now praises as being the most "fair and balanced," to her campaign. Never mind that the network is a propaganda machine for the bush administration that she claims to be running against, or the fact that their 2 highest rated cable shows exist by catering to "the angry white male." Of course, being oblivious to the idea of racist politics she warmly accepts their support.When unfounded accusations accusing the clintons of playing the race card were made supporters Ed 'some whites will never vote for a black man" Rendell, Gerry "Obama only is where he is because he is black" Ferraro and Andrew "shuck and jive Obama" Cuomo quickly came forward to dispell that notion.   Of course if one was being cynical it could be suggested that being broke forced her new alliances and even perhaps a wink and a nod to the corporate media that should she somehow get elected they would receive some terrific goody bags at the inaugural ball. Yet such analysis falls short when taking into account the personal integrity that hillary repeatedly demonstrates. (NAFTA and the Colombian trade agreement quickly come to mind.)   But more then anything else its the shot and beer hillary that most endears her to the common everyday folk.
