Republicans Can't Win Without a Bush or Nixon on the Ticket
One oddity of Politics over the last 56 years - my lifetime +1 - is that the Republicans have never won an election that did not have a Bush or Nixon on the ticket.
Nixon - 52,56,68,72
Bush - 80,84,88,00,04
Two other election losses - 60 and 92 included a Nixon or Bush as well.
So 11/14 elections in my lifetime follow this pattern. Weird....
This maybe not so odd coincidence will end this year as the nation takes a 21st century direction that has had its share of McCarthyism like that which started Nixon's career.

It goes to show how in-bred politics really is. It's a major sign of trouble if we continue with this dynasty/celebrity routine (on the left, think the Kennedys, Hillary Clinton and -- I'm predicting -- Michelle Obama). This was how the Romans transformed their society from a Republic to an Empire.
