What in God's Name Is McCain Fighting For?
Yesterday John McCain rebooted his campaign. His "new" speech used the word "fight" 20 times in the speech.
I think that what we really need is McCain to actually roll up his sleeves and understand the economic issues we face, the future needs of this nation and the real problems facing this nation. I want him to actually be involved and engaged and get the right people into government that can solve these problems.
Smart people. Committed people. People without lobbying agendas. Real experts. Good, solid thinkers.
The problem is that McCain is incapable of deep, original thought and his brain trust are all people with lobbyist based agendas.
This whole fight thing is silly. If I am going to fight a real war Gen. Petraeus is my guy but to get this nation on track for the future he is not my guy.
The last thing that America needs right now is more fighting. We need everyone to get rowing the same direction, calm, steady leadership and a vision for where America needs to go to continue its improbable, unique journey.
In fact if we had one less war that McCain had cheerled from 9/12 on we would be in a lot better shape to tackle the new challenges that face us.
It is time for a radical change in this country, but fighting in the McCain tradition is not how we are going to get there.
It was irritating to watch him again and again, tell the people one thing, and then turn around and find another way to incite his crowds.
He might as well have said Burn Baby Burn. And his Huns would have hit the streets burning property and causing mayhem.
Or McCain standing on the sidelines watching a civil disagreement, and then yelling FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT. To incite a fight.
He is not a leader he’s a provocateur. He loves war not peace.
