The Right Guy, This Time...Finally

I think we've got this one nailed down, this time.  I think, this time, we've got the right candidate and the right circumstances.

Then again, I've thought that one past boyfriend after another was the right one.

Then again, I've never had a boyfriend like Obama before.

I've given my heart away only to have it stepped on.  I've given my thoughts away, only to have them questioned and belittled and turned into brain stew.  I've given my TRUST away, only to get burned.

And that was just Reagan and GWH Bush, heh.

Riches don't trickle down.  At least, not to the down folks like me, without college degrees.  Riches trickle down to those who have a name and a title for themselves before they have their first job.

My first job was as a cashier in Publix at the age of 17.  It's only gone up from there, but it sure as heck hasn't gone up enough for me to feel a trickle down.

Obama is the first guy to get it.  He's the first guy who's come along, in my lifetime, who gets it.  He not only feels my pain, he has the answer to it.

His answer?  Stay involved.  Hold tight to this grassroots movement that is OURS.

His message?  Don't just watch me on television.  Look me up.  Look me up on the internet and join my movement there.  Get involved with me.  Be involved.  Stay involved.  Even after I win.  Because I won't leave you there, cold and lonely after January.

Get involved, be involved, stay involved, because you're going to have a voice in my administration.  You, the people....WE, the people......we are going to have a voice.

Now....how could a girl like me resist that?

Nice analogy, Lis.

Excellent post, Lis! (as always) After 2000 and 2004, it is so hard to get one's hopes up, but I guess hope is what we have to have in order to counter uncertainty and fear. Thanks!

Optimism. Ya gotta love it.

user-pic

I know, how did THAT happen?

user-pic

Thanks, guys. And, yeah, Cypher, I do love it.

You go, Lissy! Although I haven't had the same types of heartbreak you have (my guys have usually won) mine came in the disappointment of the administration after the victory.

I'm confident we are going to win this (but not confident enough to rest on our laurels!) and realistic enough to know that he is going to inherit a big fat mess to clean up that will delay all that he hopes to accomplish. Still, I have tons of confidence that he will apply the same strategy towards governing that he has in his campaign.

He will assemble the best and the brightest, come up with a game plan, then carefully, methodically execute it, modifying as necessary along the way. I'm as excited to see him govern as I am about getting him elected!

You people are really scary. You idolize a man you know nothing about. A man who has accomplished nothing in his ridiculously short career. A man who has never run a business, never served in the military, never done anything. Yet he is 'The One'. A socialist, who hates America (witness his friends Ayers, Wright, Farrakhan) and wants to tax business out of business. It is just astounding that anyone could even consider voting for this empty suit.

Hey, at least we all know how to upload an avatar image!

It is astounding that you would consider voting for a pig with lipstick

I myself find BullDogs and Pit Bulls to be nothing more than little puppies with mouths full of lipstick.

But, meh. To each his own.

And a rag tag bunch of rebels took on the great British empire. What great things had they accomplished beforehand? Hmmm?

Some people are just born with it.

(sorry, I am watching John Adams HBO documentary)

Franklin, Jefferson, Adams - men of ideas, passion and brilliance!

Obama - a man of ideas, passion, and brilliance!

We are witnessing history.

Think about which candidate, in this election, represents the patriotic middle class who have made this country great while the other wants to keep the rich business royalty owning 95% of the wealth in this country?

love it LisB

Thanks, RMR, darling. Now, um, get yourself an avatar, you!

xoxo
