Keith slams McCain on incitement
I absolutely adore Keith Olbermann. I was so incensed that McCain could actually try to play the victim of Lewis' admonition rather than look at what is being done in his name on the campaign trail. But I cannot do it justice. Keith...take it away:

Hey lis,
He always seems to put our outrage into a biting cohesive package, doesn't he? It includes all the details with very little extraneous information. But it is the 'grab you by the throat' emotion that does it.

As our resident Alaskan, what do you think the chances are for Palin to be impeached? I'm hoping that she winds up unelectable to the position of dogcatcher, but that's just me.

I liked this -- and it needs to be said again and again and again until it CEASES.
But I give the edge to Rachel Madow's poised and classy -- intelligent and lovely -- nailing of Frum for attempting to smear HER (among others) over "her" "tone" concerning the campaign -- he's so appropriately "moral" donchaknow -- by directly confronting his effort to invent a false equivalency between her commentary and supporters at McPalin rallies calling for violence.
He's still holding ice to the lump upside his head.

I agree JN. Rachel is amazing isn't she. She has held her own against Joe Scarboro and Pat Buchanan. What made Frum think he would not get his ass handed to him?
Oh for those who did not see it Rachel's Frum video is here:

Thanks and rec'd.
I love KO's linguistic skills but wish the decibels were a bit lower. However that's likely part of his appeal and may sway minds that are not yet swayed.
In any case I totally sign on to the need for all sane people to repudiate the behavior of the repub ticket, which seems to be a combination manure-spreader and landmine seeder.
If I could do one thing right now, it would be to call for nightly demonstrations until the mcShame Twins cease their rabble-rousing. I'd simply urge all citizens who are concerned about this, regardless of political persuasion, to stand for 5 or 10 minutes right in the neighborhoods, peacefully demonstrating on behalf of civility and against incitement to violence.

Although, I can't help but slyly envisioning a violent protest of the incitment to riot.

Well, if the majority of citizens are opposed to violence, then you can non-violently subdue any who try to subvert the protests. But I totally agree with you. The opposite side would try to subvert non-violence.

I think KO is the lefty O'Reilly. So I generally don't like him. This however is an appropriate tirade and gets a rec.
Unfortunately, all of the over the top, totally one-sided tirades he has given over the past months renders this appropriate one largely meaningless for communicating to those that need to hear it. He has become a masturbation for those on the left, just as O'Reilly is for the right.
But as I say, in this instance I agree 100% with him.

Here is yet another case of "There are people in this world who do not love their fellow men AND I HATE PEOPLE LIKE THAT!!!!!!"
I think the fact that the secret service is finally working on the hate speech Palin [mostly, but not without McCain's tacit approval] deploys to incite her "no-information" audience is better news. Huffington Post just came up with an "Off The Bus" article on how Todd Palin has a good chance of failing security clearance at the White House:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/frank-naif/todd-palins-alaska-indepe_b_134793.html
Considering Todd's "hands on" intrusion into the Alaska state house, I think it's time to put up a clock to note the time till the lipsticked one is finally dumped from the ticket.

There are times when one should be outraged!!
It is one things for leaders to abuse, misinform, lie to, and manipulute the people that they are pretending they want to serve simply in oder to increase their own power, status, and wealth.
It is something else altogether to incite hatred, and fear among those people to the extent that there is a great risk of them doing harm to themselves and other innocent people.
I do not see Keith's comments as hateful. I see them as rightfully indignant.
Frankly as soon as I saw the first 'kill him' clip, I was furious... not just that it happened, not that McCain and Palin did nothing, but that for some time 'good men did nothing' and were all complicit. Leaders have a responsbility to protect those they serve from such abuse. I expected to hear outrage from the right and the left but it took several days.
And similarly, I felt Rep. Lewis had absolutely no need to be apologetic for pointing out to McCain where his behavior could lead.
