Please use the new EXTENDED tab in your posts
I am really enjoying the new MyTPM features. But it seems like posts are falling off the "All Reader Posts" page at an even faster rate than before.
So, if you've got a long post, please consider putting a couple of paragraphs in the "Body" tab and the remainder of your post in the "Extended" tab.
Like this...
People who want to read it, will click. People who don't would just scroll through anyway. And this way, we'll have more posts on the main page.
Does 4 inches sound like a reasonable rule of thumb? (Note to Quinn: this is not an invitation for an off-color joke, but rather a suggestion of how many "column inches" to display in the body of your post before switching to the Extended tab.)

Filth. Filth, I tell you.
Highly Rec'd.
Actually, I counted 28 set-up lines for dirty jokes. Not bad for only 9 sentences. Sets the bar pretty high for Des, though.
P.S. Didja notice I actually USED the extended post tab last time? Pretty good, eh? Now if they only offered me an "Extended Comment" tab, I might be accepted back into polite company.

Too funny - I swear your comment wasn't here when I typed mine :)

That's what's called a preemptive strike, my friend.
As for extended tabs for comments, we can dream, right?

Thank you for that! Maybe Quinn can use extended tabs for his super long comments too. I kid, I kid. Always worth the read :)

Wow! The suspense was killing me. I just had to click on the Read More link.

My recommend function doesn't seem to be working (I get a spinning blue wheel of death and javascript:void(0) notice when I try to do so,) so I just wanna say thank you for posting this.
They should have an enforced automatic break, I've used other systems that do that. When people see that, I think many often end up adjusting their writing to make a better introtext and title.

It's a good reminder, because I don't know if everyone reads the reader posts like you do - I usually just click the titles from the Cafe page rather than the full reader post page (for exactly the reason that I hate scrolling through it all.)

Did someone ask for off-color humor? I can offer orange.

Dude, orange is so far from off-color.
Burnt sienna, on the other hand...

O, four inches isn't gonna be the same for everyone. Different monitor sizes and resolutions make it pretty highly variable. Then of course, there are those who have an entirely different definition of what an "inch" means.
But, uh, yeah. Other than that, four inches sounds about right.

Can you believe how restrained Des and I are being in this discussion?
"Hey.... Nice monitor, baby."
Sorry.

I'd just like to see an "Edit" link next to "Reply". OR at least a "Help" file somewhere where one can find out how to do that.
