this site

I've checked several sites for forums, blogs, discussions, etc., and it appears this is by far one of the best sites on the net for this. the others which i checked included gather.com, dailykos.com, worldcrossing.com, as well as individual blogs which are well-formatted for ongoing discussion, such as Brad Setser's blog. I also checked webforum websites such as topix.net. all of these had their own strengths and weaknesses, but only tpmcafe appears to have such a user-friendly interface, plus the ability to read so many messages at once. I urge others to spread the word on this, and i look forward to further discussion here. thanks.

TPMCafe is great for progressives, or if you want to understand more the minutiae of policy debates.

If you're looking for a wide range of topics, political ideologies, and a simple interface, then I would also suggest US Politics Online (don't let the name fool you, the scope is greatly expanded).
