And, it's a pattern of Clintonesque word-parsing that continues to grow.</p>

<p>Many mainstream liberals may think that wingers made way too much about Obama's smoking statements to Brokaw, but those, too, were Clintonesque.</p>

<p>Oh, for parliamentary government and more viability for left-liberal parties and voting.<br />

<p>Fact is, GM was working on hybrids <a href="http://socraticgadfly.blogspot.com/2008/12/nice-argument-for-big-three-bailouts.html ">way back in the 1970s</a>.</p>

<p>Of course, Fact No. 2 is that the UAW <a href="http://socraticgadfly.blogspot.com/2008/12/uaw-cut-its-own-throat-20-years-ago.html">invited the Japanese Big Three to America</a> and then never tried to organize Japanese plants — Honda’s first plant being in Ohio, not the South, to boot.</p>

<p>Fact No. 3 is that the auto crisis is global, it’s an issue of oversupply, as well as German (and somewhat Japanese) companies all building too many “muscle sedans,” etc., to the point that the big German automakers <a href="http://socraticgadfly.blogspot.com/2008/11/auto-industry-crisis-going-global.html">want their own bailout</a> and are talking about cutting 100,000 jobs.<br />
