Sat/Sun 2nd Chance Clearinghouse For Posts That Deserve Another Look - Updated Daily

This daily post is a clearinghouse for links to posts that either flew by too fast, didn't get the attention they deserved, or are so good they need to be up even longer...

ANYONE can link a post here. If you do, please describe it briefly and tell us why it deserves another look.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE take the time to rec this post, even if you don't read any of the links or add anything. It only works if it makes it to READER REC everyday. If it barely makes it, it gets bounced off and good links are lost.

Ripper, were you at the rally in St. Louis? I noticed your icon and would love to hear more about it. Historic!

Some good discussion - several topics, including speculation about Powell, and interesting letters from Rep. party to a (they think) supporter:

Since the Reader Blogs do not seem to be posting new blogs, here's mine:

http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/blogs/therap/2008/10/mcshame-campaign-in-a-nutshell.php

It takes the "Lie and Cry" tactics of the mcShame campaign and looks at the inciting of passions in mcShame supporters. Just a brief analysis. But I think it's a helpful synthesis. Devastating what they're doing. So dangerous.

GFunk extended this invitation to viewers: Let's Game the Scenario: Russia, Ukraine, October Surprise?

McCain has brought up the possibility twice in the debates of a Russian invasion into Ukraine, a la Georgian style. He wants readers to figure out how Obama could turn such a scenario to his advantage should Putin invade before the election.

Personally, I'm stumped because I can't even imagine Putin doing such a thing in the first place. Any comments on what I'm missing would be welcome.

I would like to highly rec'd this post:

I've encouraged the poster to consider changing the title as it may be off-putting. But this is a post extraordinaire! He's put a great deal of thought and work into it. And in my book it is a must-read. Let's move this up and get it on the Rec List.

This will probably make it up on its own, but just in case...another good post (you guys are really getting good!) and this one has a link to the picture Col. Powell referenced in his endorsement of Sen. Obama.

I totally co-sign! This man is a powerful voice here at TPM. Thanks stillidealistic for your rec'd here. Another reason why "following" helps!

By the way, I think we are at a point in this campaign, when very thoughtful posts are going up. Something is changing. Even here. It's beautiful to be a part of.
