HELP!
Okay, here's the deal...I was writing a rather lengthy comment, got pulled away, so I hit preview, then had to leave so I shut everything down, thinking the text was in here somewhere. Now I am back and can't find the comment...anyone know where it is hiding? I tried to be a big girl and find it myself, but I've spent 1/2 an hour roaming and am ready to throw in the towel. The comment was so absolutely brilliant ;-) that I hate to think its lost out there in outer space!

Don't know for certain, but it's probably gone.
Maybe check your browser's history folder? Depending on your settings, it may be there. Otherwise, it's probably gone...

Yes to trying history. If it was a blog post it would be auto-saved. Sorry.

Had a similar problem. Wrote a comment, hit submit ... it just sat there. So I hit the back button and it appeared to have gone through. I haven't seen the comment since. I miss it, really, but am trying to get on with my life. ;)

I sympathize. I've learned through similar shock and disappointment to copy all text before hitting submit or preview, just in case.
It's always the best posts that die young.

Well, thanks guys, but my brilliant comment is gone...I'm sorry that you'll never get to read it.
It probably would have gone on to become the basis for a Pulitzer Award winning book, launching my career as a world famous author, but no, since we don't have a "save to draft" feature in this %@#*&%@$# place, we'll never know...uuuuggghhhhh!

If we get bwakfat over here, perhaps you'll be issued a Pullet Surprise!

Not that this is any consolation, but your brilliant, Pulitzer Award winning comment that is lost in the ether, is probably hanging out right now with my brilliant, Pulitzer Award winning previously lost to the ether comments.
May they be lost in peace.

Actually it does make me feel a little better to know that I'm not alone. But I just HATE learning painful lessons. I mean, let's face it, the fact that the world doesn't get to read my thought for the day, isn't going to break anyone's heart, but I worked hard on it and was pretty proud of how it was going...If it was really all that important, I'd just start over, but my heart just isn't in it! Bummer. :-)

I stopped using Preview after that happened once. Just publish and re-edit/update.

Here's an idea for the future. When you're writing a post, there's a place you can decide to do it as a "draft" or a post. I'm guessing that if you do the draft thing, it saves it automatically. Another thing I do is to leave more than one window open while writing. And the third thing is to copy your post onto another document (even an email window) so it's saved in more than one place.
You have my complete and total sympathy. This kind of thing has happened to me using this software and the previous iterations.
What a bummer for you!

Geez. That really freakin' sucks. I know how it is. ...Luckily (I guess), I haven't been posting a lot on here lately, so it hasn't really happened to me. But I still know the feeling. It's happened to me elsewhere.
