Sarah Palin is an Exciting Pick
John McCain's pick of Sarah Palin as Vice-President is exciting news. With McCain turning 72 today it made sense that he would choose a young VP to assist him in the day to day operations at the White House from meeting with foreign dignitaries, to meeting with oil company officials, to reminding him to take his medication.
What is so special about the Palin pick is what it says about McCain. While Biden's experience showed Obama's inexperience liability, picking somebody with even less experience than Obama shows that McCain has full confidence in the ability of himself and his lobbiests to lead.
With McCain's own daughters reaching marrying age, it must be gratifying for him to know that they will have Aunt Sarah looking out for them if any federally employed male breaks their little hearts.
What McCain may not have reallized is that by picking a woman they may have some extra credibility with disaffected Hillary supporters who are tired of fighting for equal pay and other rights and would like to have a woman President when McCain passes. Well done John.
