For all the hand wringers, complainers, and the progressive purists...

This is the article you need to read. With all due respect to long well thought out threads........ nothing else needs to be said. My favorite part could help though:

One reason that President Obama is going to be a very successful President is precisely because his understanding of the cosmos is that his ideas (political, philosophical or theological) do not define it. That's called wisdom. That's called humility. And that is the very wisdom lacking in Obama's ideologically driven left wing critics, who never seem able to complete and paragraph with the words, "But I could be wrong." That is why their posture is already a crouch of disappointed expectation, even before President-elect Obama has been sworn in!

When President-elect Obama said that he will try to do what works, regardless of the ideological label or where a good idea comes from, he was telling the truth. Most Americans know how lucky we are to have this remarkable, pragmatic, subtle, thoughtful man for our President-elect. Most of us also know how lucky we are that our next president -- unlike our current White House occupant -- is more interested in being a good president than in proving his "side" right about everything. And most of us also know that the stakes are sky high and that now is a time to stand with our new President-elect, come hell or high water or, perhaps, because of the hell and high water we're already neck deep in.

Is it me or are Republicans trying to take claim for any future success of Barack Obama's administration?

It struck me at first with some saying "Obama ran as a moderate Republican so that is why he won. Then, it was the  "center-right nation" stuff. Almost trying to pigenhole Obama into not veering this country too far into the left (he will gradually do so with specific policies that will help people but that is for another blog) and keeping it right in the center or the center-right. Then, after some of Obama's choices EVERY REPUBLICAN started using the terms "center-right Democrats". It was disturbing to say the least, I kept hearing "Obama is making solid choices, choosing the Democrats from the center-right wing of his party". It seems to me that they are doing two things:

1.They are trying to spin of course. Making their epic losses less than what they really are, and trying so save face.

2.They are trying to take credit for any success of the Obama administration by saying it's the CENTER-RIGHT Democrats who are steering this country in the back on track and only because Obama has tapped them is he doing well.

Personally, I don't feel this will work  very well. A "D" next to someones name is still a "D" no matter how you spin it. I am just saying I see that as a sort of defence for Obama's (hopefully) future progresses being made right off the bat, and it's Obama using core "Republican" or at least "Right-Wing" traits that are the reasons to his success.

2.5 million jobs..................MY ASS!

I gurantee you Obama is lowballing that number incredibly. It is ingenious, the ultimate "low expectations" game. I believe this is the case when I watched his youtube address and you can easily tell he is playing this number perfectly. When he FAR exceeds the 2.5 million it  will  do two things:

1. It will help the American people since more and more jobs are created.

2.It will look like he is making incredible progress in putting this country back on track.

That will keep him in those high 60s in approval ratings right before election time (I am not saying he is playing politics to fix the crisis I am saying this is just killing two birds with one stone). Just watch, God willing I will be here to bring this blog up by 2011 when it is 4 million plus new jobs created  by 2011, INGENIOUS.

I gurantee you Barack Obama doesn't go campaign for Jim Martin.

I am so sure about this I would bet hard earned cash on this. Any amount you would like if that is the case. The reason? Simple.....................coattails. If Obama were to go and campaign for Martin and Martin ends up losing, how will that look on Obama? It would slightly, at least for the short term, tarnish his appeal and if it doesn't tarnish his appeal it would look sort of embarrassing. Moreover, Obama is the President-Elect, aka the statesman, who is going to stay above the politics/fray and he doesn't want to change that image. So if anyone wants to take up my offer and if you disagree let me know. Your response will be interesting indeed.

Barack Obama Roasts His new Chief Of Staff.

A throwback to a 2005 Roast of Rahm. 5:10 is simply..............MASTERFUL

 Voila!

It feels good to have a President-elect that is GENUINE.

Obama is REAL. Like you can tell he is genuine unlike someone like Romney(who you can obviously tell is a shill and a phony). I heard a story about  how one time he cockblocked (yes he cockblocked) a young reporter who asked him a question at a town hall. The reporter was trying to impress a girl he was with and Obama embarassed him by telling him he didn't look like a reporter with a babyface like that. The reporter wrote an article about the encounter and Obama called him the NEXT DAY to apologize about messing up his game. I mean you can't make stuff like that up. It's a bit irrelevant but if you think a bout it, who, especially someone in his position, does stuff like this?

Electoral College Game(redo).

It's very easy and takes ur mind of polls and MSM and it gives you something to do if you are at home.

1.Go to any electoral mapping website, personally I chose this site because it allows you to turn every state to an undecided one, which you should commence doing.

2....................You done making every state undecided and/or blank?

3.Now open a new tab/page whatever you choose and go to this website which has all the times for states, with states colored for the time they finish voting.

4.Now the fun(for a political junkie hellbent on finding out how this will end), you look at the times of the first closing state(s) on the second website and fill in who wins the state on the first website (ex. IN and KY are the first states to close polling so I gave IN to Obama and KY to McCain).

5. You continue through with the times for the next batch of states, periodically filling in who wins each as you go along.

6.Before you know it you will have already crossed the path to who wins before(in my case at least) other states even close voting.

7.In my scenario I had  Obama winning the race by 9:10-9:30. Of course we may differ on times and states but that just adds to it.

Have fun(or waste time whatever works for you) and don't forget to post your results here so we see who is correct come Tuesday Tuesday Tuesday night.

ELECTORAL FUN, choose the states and the time the race ends.

Let them run up this narrative of a tightening race....

Please, let them do it(actually there isn't much we can do about that, lol). Let them say the race is going to be incredibly close. Let them say it is tightening to the point where McCain might overtake Obama, let them cherry pick some polls that play to that narrative without putting any of these polls into context, and let them go with the "horserace" mantra full speed ahead. There are only 2 more days left folks.  None of that matters. When that map looks like an "Invasion of the smurfs" movie they won't be able to spin a thing. They can say the race is tightening because it will only motivate ALL OF US to GOTV as best we can and when we do, and we flex our muscle by changing that map and winning states that they would have never guessed we would have won, they won't have anything to say, and if they do, we won't be able to understand with feet in all their mouths. This isn't about counting chickens or choosing drapes. This is about my confidence in the work of this campaign, the blogs, the volunteers and this hunger of the American people. That's why with only two days left, all of this lame spin I brush off, because they won't be able to spin this landslide(even voter suppression is failing) and the won't be able to stop it as well.

I don't care about rubbing McCains face in it, Obama needs to get to Arizona NOW.

New poll out from the GOLD STANDARD of Arizona polling, Bruce Merril.

Bruce Merrill is a native Arizonan, has been teaching at Arizona State since 1971, and has been doing the absolute finest and most accurate polling of Arizona races for many decades. He really is the gold standard here.

This is fantastic news! Unless, of course, you are John McCain.....

McCain is only ahead of Obama by a margin of 2 points, 46-44. Time to make that final push and truly put the icing on this Arizona cake.

Jamie Dimon, the man to pull us out of this financial crisis?

I know, don't count your chickens before they hatch but I came across an interesting article. Doing some research on how many former Secretaries of the Treasury were on Obama's economic team I can across this article about Obama's number 1 choice for Secretary of the Treasury if he is fortunate enough to win the election. As you can see in the article  Dimon has a track record of success while at his tenor of Chief Executive of JP Morgan and personally, would more than likely be the best choice around. I was wondering what you would think, or is having another "Washington Elite" at the helm of the TS a problem?

AHAHAHAHAHA, The Anchorage Daily News endorsed Barack Obama!

Oh the irony. Oh the wonderful, hurtful, delicious irony. They have endorsed Obama and have even gone out of their way to take a shot at their own govenor.

Yet despite her formidable gifts, few who have worked closely with the governor would argue she is truly ready to assume command of the most important, powerful nation on earth. To step in and juggle the demands of an economic meltdown, two deadly wars and a deteriorating climate crisis would stretch the governor beyond her range. Like picking Sen. McCain for president, putting her one 72-year-old heartbeat from the leadership of the free world is just too risky at this time.

I guess someone else is going to be on Sarah's "ish" list. She doesn't like no doublecrossers!

Time for us bloggers to get to work on uncovering this Ashley Todd story.

Actually, by uncovering I mean pushing that the MSM covers the BLATANT pushing of this story by the McCain campaign and it's allies to make this story front paged news. A blog that was posted recently just said that http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/blogs/astral66/2008/10/smoking-gun-b-hoax-photographe.php the only people that got those pictures were the police and the College Republicans. The Police DID NOT reveal those pictures, DRUDGE DID and obviously with the McCain campaigns attempt to drive the narrative, giving the most vile version of the story, it is a fact that they are hiding the truth. NOT THIS TIME, it's time for ALL OF US to ask the questions and to spread the word on other blogs that the truth needs to be told and it needs to be told NOW. We cannot allow these people to lie about something this vicious that could have really caused a national wave of hate and divisiveness. I will say it again,    it's time to get to work guys and girls, the truth needs to be told and we have to make sure that happens.

BlackmenforMcCain is endorsing....................Obama?

http://blackmenformccain.com/2008/10/18/barack-obama-for-president/

I know this would sound a bit, shall I say, interesting, but a website LITERALLY devoted to showing African Americans can support McCain wholeheartedly has officially endorsed Obama. You should really read the story, it is truly deep and really helps you understand the mind of a true conservative who seems to have had an incredible epiphany.

Here is the best part:

I feel like a stranger to my all-too-recent self. There was an obstinance to my thinking, a stubborn determination to stick to the "values" of Republicanism, even when the moral failure of that ideology was staring me in the face. It is remarkable that in spite of the disaster of the past 8 years, so many of us continue to believe in that story, to stay Republican on faith alone. We have been told from a young age that belief is the greatest virtue, that faith makes a man. But it doesn't. In this case, faith just makes a good consumer.

We are the wealthiest country in the world, and yet we are the only industrialized nation where a health problem can bankrupt an otherwise secure financial existence. We tell our citizens that cutting taxes for the wealthiest will somehow "trickle down" to them, but it simply doesn't. The idea that every man must live and work for himself has not served us well. If we are to survive, we must embrace a shared purpose.

So I will vote for Barack Obama on November 4th.

I will vote for him because I want to learn from our past and evolve to a better future. I will vote for him for my children, in hopes that their American story will not mirror mine. But most of all, I will vote Obama because my father would have done it, as a final dissertation on his experience in this life. He may not have the opportunity to put his change of heart into action. But by changing me, he already has.
