Are We Happy Yet?

Update thread for lingering bugs here.

I still want negative recommending but don't expect it. More, I want posts that the whole community can vote on. In the old days that was reserved for trusted users, those with enough good karma, (aggregate recommendations). A discussion post needed five votes, I think. One could vote up or down, to post or dump.
Blog posts were the outlet for random venting and personal reporting. Instead of highlighted, they were literally a sidebar. Discussion Tables were the venue for posts that met community editorial standard. And they ranged across many topics.

Occasionally on of us would make a mistake and ask for a post in the queue to be dumped, but some really stupid ones got dumped as they deserved, and some lazy ones that consisted of simple pasted articles got the boot, too.

Lacking the "trusted user" and perhaps better to avoid the dreaded echo chamber, we could have all registered users empowered to vote, but require a larger threshold number. That would reflect the consensus without too much control by a small clique.
