TPM tracks the incessant media tire-swinging pretty well, but kos's post highlights Bowers' analysis* of Washington Post tags of state-by-state action in all of its disturbing, numerate glory.  The upshot: "Every state in which McCain has a lead, even if it's just 2.2%, is a "leaning Republican". Every state in which Obama has the lead, even if it's over 10 percent, is a "battleground"."

But I am Keeping the Faith.  I posted a message to the Obama campaign explaining my disappointment, but I am not jumping off of the bandwagon.

We need Obama to win in November.  He needs our support.  I'm going to keep donating to the campaign and talking up the need to get off the one-way trip to fascism and international ridicule that the Chimpanzee in Chief has got us on.

In the end, I believe that Obama knows that his strength comes from the netroots.  I also know that 100% agreement about tactics and strategy between me and the campaign are not likely.  But I'll take 90%.  I've got -100% with the current guys.

Although the HRC campaign continues to beat the drum that superdelegates, voting their conscience (?), will be counted on to deliver her the eventual Democratic nomination, that tide has been running in exactly the opposite direction for some time now.I've...

vandinem I've followed the trend on the Politico Superdelegate page.  HRC has gone from being almost 100 superdels ahead of BHO in January, 2008, to dead even shortly after the NC Primary, and now trails by 28.
The most recent cascade of commitments has resulted in another interesting stat ... BHO has a superdelegate edge in every category of superdelegates now (Add-ons, Congressional, DNC, Governors, Representatives, Senators), except for 'Distinguished Party Leaders'.
HRC has the same 9 'distinguished' endorsements that she's had since the Cloak of Inevitability was still draped upon her.  BHO has 5.  5 remain uncommitted (which must include Brother Al and Jimmy Carter, but I don't know who else).

This morning they have the superdelegate gap between HRC down to a mere 6.5. (the gap was 96 in early January).

I'm a middle-aged white guy offended by HRC's recent race-baiting suggestion that she somehow 'has the white vote'. It just doesn't end with that gang of wingnuts. Is there anything that they will not say? I can't even imagine what they'll come up with next week.

Whatever the Democratic Party was going to do this year was going to be historic. Barack Obama is the first presidential candidate I have been enthusiastic about in over 30 years. We have got to Seal this Deal. The remaining uncommitted super-delegates need to get off their collective, equivocating asses and make this happen, and do it soon. Yes, They Can.
